The June 2008 issue of EDITOR & PUBLISHER (Pg 24) paints a gloomy picture of some newspaper companies...It will end that way if a NEW BUSINESS MODEL is not adopted. Newspapers have a tremendous amount of untapped assets in a product that they deliver to people's yards and doors. That is if the newspaper will consider to let the product be a carry along vehicle that could be rented out to carry "taste, feel or smell" products. (This is included in "New Business Model Requires New Ways.")
Take a hint from McDonald's who created a "Happy" or "Fun" Product. I understand that initiating this concept is not a piece of cake, but neither is going out of business!
